So what am I doing wrong here? Not to teleport us back to the good old days when things just worked, but I remember a time when that fabled software FCP7 would churn through stuff no problem, and After Effects was a stable platform. Tried to go back the versions I had before, they aren't there, so I go for a lesser version and thats slow too. Slower than an incased Han Solo running a marathon. I end up getting a grade job which I wasn't expecting and thought I could turn it around quickly in Prem. So I think, well, maybe I need to update to the latest versions of Pro and AE now, its been a while and they must have worked out all the bugs that happen at launch right? Then I update to High Sierra and the problems start. Download the versions I have to make sure I can work from home which were the 2015 versions. So I bought it and thought, when I work at home on projects both personal and professional I will have something just as fast. We had one going spare at work and I thought heck, why not? Not really been used, same spec I have at work (roughly) and going cheap. About 4 months ago decided to upgrade my kit that I have at home from a medium-spec iMac to a Mac Pro.
Does anyone else running macOS High Sierra have their versions of PPro and AE running slower than a glacier through Norway? Let me lay out my frustration.
